The Carnival Liberty was the first Carnival Cruise Lines' ship to undergo the FunShip 2.0 enhancement program in late 2011.
I sailed the western Caribbean on the Carnival Liberty, and it was fun to see all the new bars and dining venues on the ship. I loved the two outdoor bars that flank the Lido deck pool and the changes made to the sports bar. Since my husband and I enjoy Mexican food, the new cantina and its adjacent salsa bar were a big hit with us, as was the hamburger stand developed by celebrity chef Guy Fieri.
This comprehensive tour of the Carnival Liberty points out the changes and provides a close-up look at this fun ship.

I went on a Liberty cruise in Sept. to cozumel Grand caymen, and Ocho Rio, Jam.ica and my Carnival cruise was the best. I’m a 6.’6 320 lb ex basketball player and now Coach and was told big guys could have fun on cruises and found that myth to be a “BIG” falsehood. I found everything from my room, to balcony, to dining area, hot tubs, and everything i wanted to do, I enjoyed. Great food, entertainment, and Island hopping made it the only vacation destination for me now.
So tall & Big people heed my plea, and have the time of your life on a cruise.
Hi Darryl – Glad to know you enjoyed your cruise on the Carnival Liberty, too. You’ll need to sail on her again to experience the new venues and changes made to the entertainment. I think you’ll find it even better!
