Cruise ships docking in either Cannes, Monte Carlo, or Nice often include a shore excursion option to St. Paul-de-Vence, a medieval French village. As seen in the photo at the right, the drive from the coastal towns on the Riviera to the village is quite scenic. St. Paul-de-Vence has the typical narrow streets seen in most medieval villages, with fascinating shops and quaint houses with beautiful flowers. The town also has a very good modern museum, the Maeght Foundation Modern Art Museum.
