Iguazu National Park in Brazil is a great side trip for cruise travelers visiting Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, or Rio de Janeiro. The park surrounds the Iguazu River dividing Brazil and Argentina. Although the 275 huge waterfalls are the major attraction, both parks have an extensive network of hiking trails and a rain forest park with a diverse ecosystem. The tropical park and walkways are often hot and wet, so be sure to take along rain gear and sunscreen.
The Argentine side of Iguazu Falls provides a more intimate look at the falls, whereas the Brazilian side provides a better panoramic view. Both are terrific, although very different.
