Visiting ancient historical sites is a favorite activity of many cruise travelers. For those of us living in the USA, many of our "ancient" sites are only a few hundred years old. However, when we travel to other countries, we find remarkable remains of civilizations that are thousands of years old. It is fascinating to walk around these ancient places and wonder what life was like for the residents or to marvel at how they were able to build such magnificent structures and temples with such limited resources.
