Small ship cruise line Variety Cruises launched its newest mega-yacht, the 72-guest Variety Voyager, earlier this year. Although not as luxurious as many of the private yachts seen in the Mediterranean, this small ship delivers memorable vacations that include many of the same attractive features such as exotic destinations, casual outdoor dining, longer stays in port, and an international small ship ambiance.
I sailed a "Romantic Rivieras" itinerary on the Variety Voyager earlier this month, and loved the ports of call and pace of the ship. Like most small ships, the cabins aren't large and don't have balconies, but they are comfortable and you are always near the out of doors since the ship is so small. The food is good, and the atmosphere is terrific, whether you are dining outdoors or just enjoying a drink with new friends in the bar.
Join me on a tour of the Variety Voyager as we sailed round-trip from Nice on a 7-day cruise to Corsica, Elba, Portovenere, Portofino, and Monaco.
