Just admit it -- many of us adore our pets as much as we do other family members, and we would love to share our cruise vacation with our pet. However, when it comes to taking a cruise vacation, your beloved animal should stay at home. Cruise ships cannot accommodate pets for two simple reasons. Pets have to have somewhere to sleep, exercise, and (most importantly) relieve themselves. In addition, cruise ships always sail to ports in more than one country. Many of these countries have strict quarantine and entry requirements for any animals entering the country.
If you insist on taking your pet along, the Cunard Queen Mary 2 can accommodate some pets, but many restrictions apply. For example, the pet has to stay in the onboard kennel area (not your cabin), and the cruise fare is not cheap.
One other thing. As much as your dog or cat loves being with you, they probably do not like strange environments. Can you imagine how stressful cruise travel might be for a pet who doesn't understand it is supposed to be fun?
