Sometimes a memorable travel experience can be unplanned and unexpected. When on a wonderful Silversea Silver Wind cruise from Cape Town, I went along with two fellow passengers on a last minute, somewhat-adventurous day trip from Maputo, Mozambique to the nearby kingdom of Swaziland.
The purpose of the trip was to see some of the African countryside and to collect another stamp in my passport. Who would have ever thought we would only be in the country about 15 minutes?

i am very happy that the three managed to get to Swaziland even though it was amatter of minutes.
It is so nice to hear such stories when the world has other stories about Swaziland.
i am a Swazi by birth and i can tell you that i am over 30 years now and i still dont want to go to Mozambique becasue of the bribes police want.
My friends have been there and there stories are not so very good.
Linda – you should read Debra Liebenow Daly’s book “The Kingdom of Roses and Thorns” if you want to gain more of a feel about Swaziland and its people – available through Amazon.Com.
We have lived in Swaziland twice for extended periods, as I was a Fulbright Scholar there. Having spent about about a third of our lives over the past decade there, I can attest to just how wonderful the Swazis are and how beautiful the country really is.
Enjoyed reading your story.
