This prediction was prepared using data from the past 30 years. Although "reduced activity" sounds good, it only takes one bad storm to ruin your vacation.

The good news is that modern technology allows advance notice of the approximate path and severity of a hurricane or tropical storm. Cruise ships can use this vital information to change the planned itineraries of their Caribbean cruises. After all, they have multimillion-dollar ships to protect, along with thousands of passengers and crew. Cruise lines want your return business, so they certainly take severe weather into account in planning or adjusting itineraries. Here is the latest forecast for 2012, along with some great Web sites with hurricane information.
