Although cruise travel may not be for everyone, most people can find a cruise ship and cruise destination to meet their needs. Don't let these ten cruise myths keep you from planning a cruise!

I have been on 5 cruises, (mostly P&O, although last time it was with NCL), so you are obviously preaching to the converted
. Although I am a great fan of them as they give you a taste of several different destinations in one holiday, the bill for your onboard account can be a shock at the end of the cruise if you are not careful. The cost of drinks really does add up, and the excursions can be very expensive so with a family the total cost can be frightening. However, by doing research first you can often do your own thing in port and save your money for your souvenirs!
The food is usually fantastic, and the use of the leisure facilities have always been included in the cruises I have joined.
I always choose a cruise with lots of ports of call, as personally I would find a transatlantic cruise boring. There are some great cruises around Europe for those who don’t want to spend every day on a beach – even if it is the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. My favourite European cruise is one which takes in the Baltic capitals.
Cruises won’t be for everyone, but for the majority there will be a cruise line or itinery which would give them the holiday of a lifetime.
I have read many reviews about Costa Mediterrenea and yours are glowing and all others much less. Why?
Hi Bob – I’ll have to admit that I have never sailed on the Costa Mediterranea. The reviews posted on my site were submitted by About Cruises’ readers and are labeled as such. I’m not sure why I’ve never received a negative review of the Costa Mediterranea, but if I get one, it will be posted. Thanks for your comment/question.
