Celebrate the Holidays with MSC Cruises

I'll be sailing on MSC Cruises' Splendida next week out of Barcelona, and reporting back in the next few weeks about this new ship. This Italian cruise line has some interesting holiday specials and itineraries lined up for those who will be sailing during the year end holiday season.

First, the MSC Poesia will feature a 7-night "Happy Holidays, Caribbean-Style" Eastern Caribbean itinerary departing Fort Lauderdale December 20. The ship will be decorated with Christmas trees and seasonal music will fill the public areas. Guests will spend Christmas at sea with a special Midnight Mass, gifts for children, Christmas quizzes and games and plenty of entertainment, as well as a gala Christmas dinner. Cruise-only rates begin at $699.

MSC Poesia's 7-night "Caribbean & Confetti New Year's" Western Caribbean itinerary departs December 27. Passengers can ring in the New Year at sea under the stars and enjoy a special New Year's dinner. Cruise-only rates begin at $899.

MSC's two newest ships, the MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida, will be spending the December and New Year's holidays in the Mediterranean, so those are good holiday cruise options also for those with more time to get away.
