Cairns, Australia - Duck Tour at Kuranda Rainforestation
ranging from cruise ships carrying thousands of passengers on long ocean voyages to small kayaks carrying a single person on fast-flowing rivers over treacherous rapids.

One novel way to see some of the world's waterways is on an Army "duck", an amphibious vehicle invented by the military for use in World War II. These watercraft are used by tour companies all over the world to provide land and water tours. Bernd Biege, the About.com Guide to Travel in Ireland, has compiled a list of "duck tours" found in cities and countries around the world in this blog carnival from our About.com Travel Channel.
