Shore Excursion Memory - Cruise Ship Passengers Stranded on Glacier Overnight

Saturday August 23, 2008
Eleven cruise ship passengers have come home with a great story (and a happy ending). They got stranded overnight on a glacier when bad weather prevented their being picked up for the return to Juneau.

Destination specialist and author Terry Breen was onboard the Seven Seas Mariner and blogs on August 18 about the "interesting" experience shared by these 11 passengers.

I'll be sailing on the Seven Seas Mariner in Alaska next week, but I think I'd rather pass on an "unplanned" camping adventure such as this one. On the other hand, what a great story these 11 hardy travelers could share (and embellish) with their friends and family when they got home.
