The cruising itineraries include some superb shore excursions to the wonders of the savanna, bush and desert. A 4x4 trip across the surreal dunes of the Namib Desert and a star-lit dinner complete with live music promises to leave a lasting memory. Close to Richard's Bay along the coast of South Africa, a trip to the Shakaland Cultural Village in KwaZula-Natal gives guests the chance to observe traditional fighting techniques, local cooking and dancing styles. Further north, wildlife fanatics will be wowed by a Big Five game drive, the lemur conservation and breeding programs in Madagascar and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, accompanied by marine wildlife lecturer Tim Earl, where guests will visit the home to the giant tortoise, endangered birds and many exotic fish.
Tim Earl is just one of many on-board speakers sure to inform, inspire and entertain throughout the journey. Whether a wildlife enthusiast, African landscape guru, a passionate conservationist or historian, their insightful evening lectures compliment unforgettable fine dining in the wood-panelled Argyll Restaurant. Up on the Mizzen Deck breakfast and lunch is carefully prepared by talented chefs using the freshest of ingredients while guests soak up the changing panoramic view by day.
