Trail Ride from Agua Verde on the Sea of Cortez in Baja Mexico

Tuesday May 20, 2008
While the American Safari Cruises' Safari Quest was anchored at Puerto Agua Verde, we did a trail ride up and over the hills surrounding the beautiful bay.

The horses, mules, and burros were supplied by local rancher Alejo Romero, who matched us with the appropriate animal based on our size and riding experience.

The ride lasted about an hour and a half, and the trail took us up out of the bay to the nearby desert. Along the way, we saw many cows, a small old cemetery, and a few ranch buildings. Mostly we just enjoyed seeing the Baja Mexico countryside without having to hike!
