A Day on Papua New Guinea from the Seven Seas Voyager
Wednesday April 2, 2008
One of the great things about cruise travel is the ability to see exotic destinations such as Papua New Guinea, which is located on the world's second largest island. Having never traveled to this part of the world, I probably would not have planned a whole vacation around Papua New Guinea. However, the people were warm and welcoming, and the island was fascinating. I'm happy to have had the opportunity to visit Madang from the Regent Seven Seas Voyager.
The mountainous country is slightly larger than California, and much of it is covered with tropical vegetation. The port of Madang is on the northern coast of Papua New Guinea and is sometimes included as a port of call on cruises between Australia and Asia such as our wonderful cruise from Sydney to Shanghai on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager.
