Royal Caribbean Sends Rhapsody of the Seas to Australia; Expands Cruise Season

Tuesday October 2, 2007
Royal Caribbean International has announced 14 Australia cruises and two transpacific voyages aboard Rhapsody of the Seas for winter 2008-09.

Royal Caribbean has expanded its Australia cruise season to run from October 2008 to April 2009. The cruises will range from seven to 15 nights, or can be combined into longer voyages. The itineraries include cruises to the Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef, Tasmania, and New Zealand. Those wishing to spend more time on this fascinating island continent can sail all the way around Australia on a 35-night voyage.

A 16-night repositioning cruise from Sydney to Honolulu in April 2009 sounds mighty enticing, with stopovers in the Cook Islands and Society Islands of the South Pacific. Cruisers can extend their stays in Australia by booking a Royal Caribbean cruise tour, which includes a pre- or post-cruise land vacation.

(1) Bobby Rowland says:

I was on the last trip to Hawaii before it headed to Australia. The trip was awful, many things don’t work. There is something wrong with a propeller or shaft as the ship vibrates, especially at the stern. Tenders would not run when needed. Awful smell in the passageway outside our cabin. Some crew were hateful to passengers. Food was substandard compared to other cruises. It started with us standing in line at San Diego airpore, outside, for 2 hours, just to get on a bus for Ensanada Mexico. I am sorry for the people of Australia as they are getting this floating junk and won’t know about it until it is too late.
