Doug and his wife take their first cruise on the NCL Pride of America. They loved Hawaii, especially the island of Kauai. He thought the ship was "very nice", but that "the food was mediocre to average at best." They did enjoy the steakhouse and thought his room stewardess on the Pride of America was very good.

I was on the Pride Of America, January 20-27. What a wonderful itinerary!! It sure is a shame they that NCL doesn’t have competition. I’ve only sailed on Carnival, and some say they don’t like it, but I feel it is top notch service compared to the Pride Of America. I honestly can’t understand after all this time why they don’t get it!!! It was wonderful having an all American Staff, but… I’m afraid the work ethic just isn’t there. We did have a wonderful room steward, but the dining was a big disappointment. It is a shame, I did love the ship, and the cabin, sure it was small, but I really think that is to be expected. We had a balcony room. I brought a group of 70, and the comments were all the same. Hawaii is what sold it for them and the itinerary. I hope they can improve, it would be sad not to have anything there. I really want to bring a group every year.
