Seabourn Drops Libya from 2007 Cruises

Wednesday January 10, 2007
Seabourn Pride at the Dock in Venice, ItalySeabourn Cruise Line announced that it has cancelled calls in Libya scheduled for the Seabourn Spirit and Seabourn Legend in 2007, due to that country’s refusal to permit entry for its guests traveling on U.S. passports. Libya has many wonderful historical sites, and it is sad that the country will not allow Americans to enter. I know I would hate to have to stay on the ship while my European cruise mates went ashore!

The change affects two cruises, the first of which is a 12-day voyage aboard Seabourn Spirit from Alexandria, Egypt to Rome, departing May 7, 2007. On that cruise, instead of two days at Tripoli and one day at Derna, Libya, guests will enjoy calls at Kusadasi, Turkey, for Ephesus; the Greek Isle of Mykonos, a transit of the Corinth Canal and a call at Itea, Greece, near the ancient ruins of Delphi.
