An article in the Miami Herald this week discusses how cruise lines are taking a look at their alcohol policies. Some cruise lines are providing more training for their bar staffs, while others are looking at how to prevent underage drinking and limit over-indulgence by adults. Cruise lines want to provide a fun vacation experience and have to be careful about restricting adults too much. What do you think? Do cruise lines have a responsibility to monitor passenger behavior, or should adults be held accountable for their own actions?

Cruise Lines Reconsider Alcohol Policies

Yes, Cruise lines have a responsibility to monitor passengers behavior, especially in the area of over- indulgence of alchohol and sexual predators. Why should we have different standards for a cruise ship than we do for any other vacation area where a family spends their hard earned money. I hope your goal is to cater to the mojority…good honest hard working family people rather than to the minority consisting of sloppy drunks, in many cases spouting profanity. We cruise at least 1-2 times a year and hope the cruise lines will maintain a high standard where we know the rules ahead of time….
