Freedom of the Seas to Have Onboard Surfing

Sunday September 11, 2005
Royal Caribbean International was the first cruise line to feature rock climbing and ice skating onboard its mega-cruise ships. Now, the Freedom of the Seas, which is scheduled to be launched in May 2006, will have an onboard surfing pool.

The Freedom of the Sea' 32-foot-wide by 40-foot-long surfing pool will be similar to swimming against a current in a stationary lap pool. Riders can surf or body board against a wave-like flow of 30,000 gallons of water per minute, carving turns and trying tricks. Sounds like fun!
